The total length of the Forest Trail in Lithuania and Latvia is approximately 1,030 km (380 km in Latvia, 650 km in Lithuania) and it will pass through the most picturesque areas (forests, mounds, swamps, etc.). The Forest Trail will be connected to the Forest Trail Riga – Tallinn (https://baltictrails.eu/en/forest).
A tourism expert from Latvia will check the route passing through Birstonas – Prienus – Kaunas Old Town.
You will travel on various forest paths that will lead through forests, fields, mounds, rivers path and so on.
On July 24-27, we invite everyone to join exploratory hikes!
July 24, Panemunio homestead – Birštonas. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – Panemunio homestead (Birštono sen., Panemunio km., Panemunio 4), end point – Birštonas. It is planned to walk 25 km.
July 25, Birštonas – Prienai – homestead “Druskų miškas”. Start: 10 p.m. The starting point is Birštonas TIC (B. Sruogos g. 4, Birštonas), the end point is the homestead “Druskų miškas”. It is planned to walk 20 km.
July 26, homestead “Druskų miškas” – Pakuonis. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – homestead “Druskų miškas” (Bičiulių g. 13, Alksniakiemio km., Prienų r.) (near the road to the homestead), end point – Pakuonis. It is planned to walk 18 km.
July 27, Pakuonis – Kaunas Old Town. Starting point – Pakuonis school parking lot, end point – Kaunas Old city. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 35 km.
Be prepared for any weather conditions and have some snacks and drinks with You.

Important: You are welcome to join any part of the program. The day hikes are 20-25 km long and take about 6-8 hours each. There is no participation fee. We do not provide accommodation, food or transportation.
