The total length of the Forest Trail in Lithuania and Latvia is approximately 1,030 km (380 km in Latvia, 650 km in Lithuania) and it will pass through the most picturesque areas (forests, mounds, swamps, etc.). The Forest Trail will be connected to the Forest Trail Riga – Tallinn (https://baltictrails.eu/en/forest).
A tourism expert from Latvia will check the route passing through Kaunas Old Town – Kaunas District – Raseiniai District. We will travel on various forest paths that will lead through forests, fields, mounds, paths to rivers and so on.
On August 3-5th, we invite everyone to join exploratory hikes!
August 3, Kaunas Old Town – Čekiškė. Start: 10 am. Starting point – parking lot near Kaunas Castle, ending point – Čekiškė. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 55 km.
August 4, Čekiškė – Katauskiai. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – Čekiškės St. Trinity Church (L. Markelio gatvė 1A, Čekiškės), end point – Katauskiai. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 50 km.
August 5, Katauskiai – Pageluvis. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – rural tourism homestead “Pakalne” (Kušeliškės kaimas, Raseinių r. (10 km from Raseiniai main road of Šiluva)), ending point – Pageluvis. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 61 km.
Be prepared for any weather conditions and have some snacks and drinks with You.

Important: You are welcome to join any part of the program. The day hikes are 20-25 km long and take about 6-8 hours each. There is no participation fee. We do not provide accommodation, food or transportation.
