Exploratory trips in Kelmė, Telšiai, Skuodas, Plungė and Kretinga districts

The total length of the Forest Trail in Lithuania and Latvia is approximately 1,030 km (380 km in Latvia, 650 km in Lithuania) and it will pass through the most picturesque areas (forests, mounds, swamps, etc.). The Forest Trail will be connected to the Forest Trail Riga – Tallinn (https://baltictrails.eu/en/forest).

A tourism expert from Latvia will check the route passing through Kelmė, Telšiai, Skuodas, Plungė and Kretinga districts till Lithuania-Latvia border. We will travel on various forest paths that will lead through forests, fields, mounds, paths to rivers and so on.

On August 6-10, we invite everyone to join exploratory trips!

August 6, Pagėluvis-Šaukėnai. Start: 10 am. Starting point – near Pagėluvis Farmstead, ending point – Šaukėnai post office. There will be a hike, planned to travel 25 km.

August 7, Šaukėnai- Varniai. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – Šaukėnai post office, end point – Varniai. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 60 km.

August 8, Varniai- Plinkšės. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – Varniai Cultural Centre, ending point – Plinkšės. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 65 km.

August 9, Plinkšės – Plateliai. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – Plinkšių Hotel, ending point – Plateliai. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 55 km.

August 10, Plateliai – Skuodas – LT/LV border. Start: 10 p.m. Starting point – Plateliai (will be updated), ending point – LT/LV border. There will be a bicycle ride, planned to travel 54 km.

Be prepared for any weather conditions and have some snacks and drinks with You.

Important: You are welcome to join any part of the program. There is no participation fee. We do not provide accommodation, food or transportation.
