On 13 September 2017 the 1^st Steering Committee and 1^st Management Team meetings were held in the library of Liepaja Marine College main building.

The Steering Committee members are social partners of the education institutions involved in the project and they are interested in improvement of maritime transport sector workforce skills and mobility in both regions.

During the Steering Committee meeting 3 representatives of Latvian and Lithuanian social partners – Mr. Harold Kovs, Chief Operation Officer of Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies, Mr. Gints Ažēns, Deputy Harbour Master at Liepaja Port authority, and Jūris Mironovs, Harbour Master Officer of Liepāja Special Economic Zone, evaluated the project’s current results and achievements, visited the reconstructed premises for tailor made installation of Navigation, Manoeuvring and Engine Control Laboratory at Liepaja Marine College.

The members expressed their satisfaction with the work done during the first project reporting period, and expressed their belief in that the project outcomes will be useful and in accordance with the sector’s needs. Also cooperation between the involved institutions was highly valued.

Same day, right after the Steering Committee meeting, the project 1^st Management meeting took place, where the participants reflected on the first period results and reporting issues experienced among the partners. Member of the meeting discussed the plan for the second reporting and implementation period, as well as for one more time evaluated and agreed on necessary changes.
