On the 24th of November 2018 at 12 o’clock Liepaja Central scientific library and Children`s library “Vecliepājas rūķis” organize a competition for families in natural sciences and foreign languages “KNOW or GUESS”. We invite families from Liepāja and region till 17th of November to apply for a competition – to accept the challenge and to test their skills, luck and knowledge in the field of natural sciences and foreign languages in fulfilling various tasks. The competition will be an opportunity to learn new things, to have fun and to spend free time interesting together and make new friends.
The idea of the family competition has become within the framework of the cross-border project of the Jelgava City Library “Development of Innovative library solutions for different generations in the border region”, in order to promote intergenerational cooperation, encourage children, parents and grandparents to participate and learn new knowledge by learning from each other.
Liepaja Central scientific library and project partners – Jelgava City Library and public library of Šiauliai City Municipality will organize semi-final seminars for families in their libraries. In semi-finals, will be found the most active and most eager families of each project partner. Then on the 8th of December these families will go to the great final in the Lithuanian city of Šiauliai. All families will receive promotional awards for participating in this activity.

Application for the competition is available till 17th of November – writing an e-mail to gita.svarce@liepaja.lv, calling to +371 63422049 or applying in person in Children’s library “Vecliepājas rūķis”, address – Liepaja, Malkas street 4, 3th floor.
The event is being organized within the framework of the Latvian-Lithuanian cross-border project LLL-110 „Inovatīvu risinājumu attīstība bibliotēkās dažādu paaudžu apmeklētājiem pierobežas reģionā”/ “Development of Innovative library solutions for different generations in the border region”.
