10 July 2020
The project with a warm title acronym HOME started on the 1st of July 2020. The Lead partner Ludza Municipality (LV) invited its partners – Rokiškis Municipal Public Library and Jēkabpils City Municipality – to Ludza to the kick-off meeting.
Recently the same partners have finished another project OPEN UP (LLI-263), but it can be said that it ended on the note “To be continued”. And it has been continued with the new project – HOME. The key players of both projects are libraries, and they strive for involving local people into various activities. If in the OPEN UP they worked only with children, the HOME has more ambitious plans of capturing attention of families with children, young mothers with babies, single parents. What can the library offer to this audience? How can young mothers spend time in the library? What is a camp for single parents? Will it be interesting for families from Ludza, Jēkabpils and Rokiškis to meet at a joint festival? What kind of interactive information can libraries offer to their visitors and will it be useful and interesting for people? These questions have no answer at the moment, but we will try to find solutions and answers together.
