In August, 2020, the new Partnership agreement  for the implementation of project LLI-416 LOCAL FOODS was signed by the three project partners.

Due to low capacities and lack of financial resources the Project partner No. 2 Farmers Union of Kaslava District  has demonstrated a very low level of activeness and involvement in the implementation of project LLI-416 LOCAL FOODS activities. Therefore project change procedure was initiated by the project Lead partner.

As lack of financial resources was indicated as main problem for Partner 2, Lead Partner has found much financially reliable partner- Latvian office of  Euroregion “Country of Lakes”, institutions that unites 15 municipalities from Latvia (Latgola) and works in sphere of social economic development to solve local problems through cooperation by involving local actors: citizens, public and private organisations, local businesses and farmers.

It is important to stress that Partner change will allow to continue achievement of project results, because existing and potential local producers from Latgale region will be involved in project activities, no matter if those farmers are members of certain farmer union organisation or not.  It is planned that Farmers Union of Kaslava District and its individual members local producers will remain as a target group of the project.

The Farmers Union of Kaslava District and farmers who were involved in experience exchange visit to Poland and Austria will share their experiences and participate in such project activities as trainings, product development consultations, and participate in other project events, as festivals and local product markets, also bring their products to the market to start local production and delivery system in Latgale and Utena regions.
