On October 20, 2020, the Final conference of the project No. LLI-288 “Police K9” of the Interreg v-a Latvia – Lithuania programme took place in Bauska and on-line. In line with the epidemical restrictions conference was held as hybrid event. Dog handlers and other stakeholders from Latvia gathered in Bauska were remotely “met” partners – dog handlers and stakeholders of the field from Lithuania.
The project “Police K9” which now is sucessfully closed was implemented from April 25th, 2018 to October 24th, 2020.
Within the project, strategic directions of Latvia and Lithuania police canine services cooperation were developed as long as Guidelines on the cooperation of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania in combating criminal offenses and joint activities in the border areas in the field of canine.
At the end of the conference, the Partners agreed to ensure the commitment to implement the priorities of common interests set out in the Guidelines, as well as to organize coordinated events and meetings within the framework of existing formats and bilateral/multilateral formats, as well as on the basis of necessity, with the aim of evaluating cooperation and determining future priorities.
