The aim of the study visit is to increase the capacity of the project team by learning on planning approaches, on cooperation with different stakeholders, as well as on practical river restoration activities.
There are planned visits to various organisations in different locations:
26.09 2018. Visits of Mersey River Trust and its tributaries: Mersey River, Kersal wetlands, Restoration of River Irk in North Manchester, Aeration project in Salford Quays, The River Bollin (Manchester – Greater Manchester (Merseyside) – Cheshire). Experience exchange with Catchment-Based Approach partnership, Nature Course, Carbon landscape projects (Focus on green infrastructure, landscape planning and stakeholder involvement issues);
27.09.2018. Visit of Peak District National Park, River Irwell and green infrastructure sites (Manchester – Buxton – Rochdale). Experience exchange with Catchment-Based Approach partnership and Nature Course project (Focus on landscape planning and green infrastructure issues);
28.09.2018. Visit of estuary of Mersey River around Liverpool (Manchester – Liverpool). Experience exchange with Catchment-Based Approach partnership (Focus on river restoration and water quality).
