Educational seminar about governance and management of lakes

Kurzeme Planning Region organizes an educational seminar on lake governance.
The two-day seminar will be held on May 23-24 at the USMA SPA hotel, Usmas parish, Ventspils region.
On the first day of the seminar, it is planned to educate the participants about freshwater biotopes and their management, as well as to introduce the stories of several Latvian lakes’ management experience. On the second day, expert presentations on various freshwater management topics are planned, with a strong emphasis on governance, as well as regulatory framework and other issues.
Target groups of the seminar are as follows:
– specialists of local governments and those institutions, whose duties are related to the governance and management of lakes;
– associations and foundations operating in lake areas;
– representatives of state administration, science and environmental education institutions;
– representatives of other lake-related interest groups.
