“All for Safety” project partners met in project steering and management group meeting to discuss the progress of project implementation and results achieved.
On February 27, 2020 partners of the project “Improvement of physical capacity of technical base and operational services specialists in the area of Latvia and Lithuania (All-Safety)” met in project steering and management group meeting in Siauliai to discuss the progress of project implementation and results achieved.
At the beginning of the meeting project partners informed steering group members about the progress of project implementation and achieved results by February 2020. Continuing the meeting project partners discussed planned deliverables and remained activities for the last project implementation period (01/01/2020 – 30/06/2020). During the meeting also an importance to follow project reporting deadlines and its preparation according to programme requirements was discussed. At the end of the meeting project partners agreed on future action plan to ensure successful implementation of the project.
Up to this moment reconstruction of the sports stadium of Jelgava Secondary Technology School has finished, responsible partner – Jelgava City Council. Taking into account developed infrastructure the stadium is planned as a place where to organize various professional firefighting competitions, practical studies and trainings for industry professionals. The State Fire and Rescue Service has finished repair of sports gym for the needs of fire and rescue service specialists in Jelgava. The gym underwent cosmetic repairs and the purchase of modern sports equipment, including exercise equipment. While the Fire and Rescue Department of Lithuania in Siauliai has purchased a mobile tower and specialized runway to move firefighting equipment to improve the professional competence and strengthen physical capacity of its firefighters.
In order to strengthen physical capacity of the specialists of operational services, a number of different joint events like professional trainings, competitions, team-building activities and training camps have been organized within the project in Jelgava and Siauliai. While in order to raise awareness and popularize the fire and emergency service profession among schoolchildren and young people, international camp for children “Learn to be strong” was organized in Jelgava from August 12 – 16, 2019. During the camp children learned more about required knowledge, skills and competences which are essential in this profession.
Project objective: to improve efficiency of operational rescue services in Zemgale and Siauliai border regions trough improvement of infrastructure and strengthening capacity of its specialists to ensure cross border cooperation in emergency situations.
Project partners: Jelgava City Council (Lead partner), State Fire and Rescue Board of Latvia (PP2), Fire and Rescue Department of Lithuania (PP4) (former Siauliai County Fire and Rescue Board (PP3)).
Total budget of the project: 564 290, 38 EUR, where EUR 479 646.82 (85%) is European Regional Fund funding and EUR 84 643, 56 EUR (15%) is National co-financing source (the state budget grant and partner contribution).
Project budget for Jelgava Municipality: 258 784, 64 EUR, where EUR 219,967.25 is European Regional Fund funding and 38,817, 39 EUR (15%) is National co-financing source (the state budget grant and partner contribution).
Project implementation period: July 30, 2018 until June 30, 2020.
