Description: Žemaitija National Park was established in 1991 having a goal to preserve the natural and cultural heritage, to guarantee proper use and regeneration of natural resources, to create conditions to cognitive tourism, scientific researches and observation of the state of surroundings. Directorate of Žemaitija National Park is responsible for implementation of locally state protected areas policy.
