The third educational trip for disabled children from Visaginas, Dagda and Molėtai was organized on the 5th of May. 15 children with accompanying teachers participated in educational program “Bread road” organized by Šlyninkos watermill.
The owners of the mill invited to children the House of Craftsmen to familiarize themselves with the bread-making process. During the educational program, children listened to a story about baking bread, learned to bake rye bread, and formed their own unique loaf. While the bread was being baked, the owner of the mill introduced the history of the mill, ancient rakes, and offered rustic food – pancakes baked on coals and herbal tea collected in the vicinity of the mill.
Participation in educational programs develops children’s activity and creativity, encourages children with special educational needs to participate in community activities.
