Basic knowledge on theory of music therapy is mastered – development of music therapy, different points of view, various trends of contemporary music therapy and perspectives for application of educational, medical, psycho-therapeutic etc. music therapy and its significance to health, self-education and socialisation. Students gain knowledge and practical skills on music therapy theory useful for development of the arsenal of alternative music education methods/techniques, making work of a music teacher of erective and perfecting forms of collaboration of educational specialists. Music therapy research is analysed and modelled in educational/health promotion contexts. It is aimed at student’s self-development of competences helping to with qualification integrate elements of music therapy into professional performance.
