TRAINING FOR GUIDES

The Directorate of Aukštaitija Protected Areas organizes training for guides.

The success of a good trip, excursion or educational program depends on the ability of the guide to work not only with the group, but also on the ability to convey the knowledge in an interesting way. In this kind of work, continuous improvement and upgrading of qualifications is a necessity. We give you the opportunity to participate in free guide training.

The purpose of the training is to improve knowledge about geological and geomorphological natural objects, to raise the awareness of the guides and to increase the activity of the guides in presenting the route and objects. In the training with the help of professional lecturers, knowledge of geomorphology and geology will be acquired, which will complement the available knowledge and the qualifications of the guides.

During the training, the places and objects of the project route will be visited, basic information and specific natural features will be studied. The training will include knowledge improvement, basic information about geomorphology, geology, basic information about objects in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties, current practice, improving the qualifications of guides, including working with groups, hospitality, service, program creation, stories, etc.

The training will take place on the following days:

Part I: May 15-16

Part II: May 30-31.

Part III: June 6-7

Part IV: June 13

During the training, you will not only travel, admire and get to know nature, but you will also meet professional naturalists, coaches, scientists, geologists and, of course, nature guides.

Guide training is organized during the implementation of Interreg V-A Latvia–Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 project No LLI-483 “Use of Unique Geological and Geomorphological Nature Values in the Development of Green Cognitive Tourism” / GEOTOUR.
