Brukna manor (Dāviņu pag.) was built in 18th century, but during Soviet times little was left. Now it is being restored, together with a garden and vineyard. The most interesting is the renaissance style vegetable and herb garden maintained by the manor’s inhabitants. Plant species in this garden change very year. Only a smaller part of the 20 ha area is park and all is newly planted, but it is worth seeing, especially the rosarium and the vineyard. There are also rare trees like a young edible chestnut (Castanea sativa) and old apple ‘Grushovka Moskovskaya’. Brukna is a unique place working in spiritual and social rehabilitation of people with problems. It has a newly built church and smaller prayer houses of different Christian confessions. Many sculptures which decorate the garden have been donated
