Description: The Nature Conservation Agency (NCA) ensures implementation of unified nature protection policy in Latvia.Main functions of NCA are management of all specially protected areas that are under special state-level protection in Latvia, including nature protection planning, management and promotion of the plans and scientific research management in National parks and other protected areas. NCA also carry out the functions of supervision of CITES and educate and inform the society about nature conservation. Nature Conservation Agency has 4 structural units – Vidzeme, Pieriga, Kurzemes and Latgale.
