04 December 2017
As usual, on the last Thursday of each month, “Coffee with Expert” is organized. This month, “Coffee with Expert” was held on November 30, organized by the Kurzeme Business Incubator in cooperation with the Green and Smart Technology Cluster. This month “Coffee with an expert” took place a bit differently than usual, as our project BEE Lab (Boost regional Entrepreneurship by Enabling cross border cooperation ), we were invited to visit the business exhibition “SIAULIAI 2017” and the international conference in Šiauliai on the topic: Globalization and Economics patriotism – dilemmas, problems and opportunities. It was decided to combine this event with our monthly Coffee with Experts event to promote cross-border cooperation, gain new insights and contacts for future cooperation. This time, all our project partners, namely, the Rietavas Tourism and Business Information Center, the Talsi Municipality, the Green and Smart Technology Cluster and the Klaipėda State University of Applied Sciences, as well as our Saldus Business School, participants. The conference talked about technological change, economic, political and demographic challenges, and what prompted us to rethink our goals and pace of development, which is precisely what prompts us to look for new sources of economic stability and growth.
Conference was attended, discussed and responses to participants’ questions were brought by entrepreneurs, scientists and foreign experts as well as the Head of the European Commission Representation in Lithuania – Arnoldas Pranckevičius ,University of Groningen, President of the European Regional Science Association Migration insights (the Netherlands) – Prof. Dr. Jouke van Dijk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Russian Federation – Remigijus Motuzas, GEO of JSC STATGA , Representatives of European Economic and Social Committee Employers group (tbc) – Rytis Dijokas, Kaiserlautern Technical University, Private and Economic Low, Intellectual Property scientific researcher, industrial engineer ( Germany) – Michael Horeth and representative of the European Economic and Social Committee – Pietro Francesco De Lotto. Convergence – discussion was led by Aurimas Perednis, announcer and journalist of “Žiniu radijas”. The conference was held in Lithuanian, but a translation into English was provided.
After the conference there was an opportunity to visit the business exhibition “SIAULIAI 2017”, where you could see and get acquainted with local businessmen and their offered services and goods. It really was in its own way, a great insight into what you want to do and for what you do, it comes from all over the heart, then any dream can be realized. After attending the exhibition, all our project partners and participants had an opportunity in an informal atmosphere, get acquainted with each other, discuss the experiences and impressions of this day and spend some time together in a different way. The project partners of Rietavas Tourism and Business Information Center invited one participant who participate in this exhibition to share their story about their business and and how it has gone, in to our event “Coffee with Experts”. The participants were pleased and interested in the story of Renata Stankuviene, who is involved in the production of leather clothing and fur (MAREMA). It was very interesting and nice. It was a pleasure to meet all together again, to come together and discuss our BEE Lab project things that have been done and what else to do.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this international event and meet in our next December “Coffee with Expert”, which will take place as usual. Information about the next event will be posted later
Let everyone succeed!
