For the next two weeks, a photo exhibition highlighting the 10th anniversary of the Latvia-Lithuania Programme is on display at the Lithuanian School in Riga. Pupils, teachers and visitors of the school can now admire the photos made by famous Latvian photographers Ilmārs Znotiņš and Jānis Deinats, who captured the positive impact of cross-border cooperation on local communities in the programme area.
On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition Interreg Reporter Tijmen – volunteering at the Latvia-Lithuania Programme through ‘Interreg Volunteer Youth’ since April – visited the Lithuanian School and gave there a presentation about the European Union and its history, about Interreg Latvia-Lithuania and the projects that are being supported.
“We talked with pupils about importance of the cooperation between neighbouring countries. Also, some of them were event interested if they can become volunteers themselves“ – Tijmen described his meeting in the school.
After being featured at the Lithuanian School, the exhibition will continue on to its next destination – the Embassy of Lithuania in Riga in June.
