Do you feel how the winds of spring bring changes?
We do!
Motivated, positive and eager for change – this mood followed us after a successful regional seminar-workshop on 30th of March. „Together“ means more. More capabilities, more results, more good practices in every step. With this is mind, Euroregion „Country of Lakes“ Lithuanian office together with the mayors of the region and their representatives participated in the seminar “Country of Lakes – Tourism and Culture”, which helped to assess the inexhaustible potential of our region in this sector and to discuss it as a possible joint strategic direction. The strengthening of regional cooperation between 8 municipalities here is of the utmost importance.
Leaders of regional municipalities learned to raise their brave wings from three lecturers: Erika Furman, Žydrė Gavelienė and Jolanta Nėjutė. Thanks to these experts of tourism, culture and innovative projects, we have challenged our views and put up a challenging mission to create a solid and attractive Lithuanian east wing for tourism and culture together. Because together we always can do more!
This meeting of the regional Culture and Tourism working group was only a (strong) start, but many more workshops are soon to follow. Meetings of the municipal tourism and culture working groups in Lithuania are already in the middle of implementation and showing promising results. And finally, international training activities together with our friends and partners from Latvia are planned this summer and shall make our tourism and culture sector flourish.
This project is funded by the European Union. The Interreg V-A Latvia – Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 aims to contribute to the sustainable and cohesive socio-economic development of the Programme regions by helping to make them competitive and attractive for living, working and visiting.
