Improvement works in last of the four brownfield objects in the project LLI-386 “Trans-form” were finalized by the Panevezys Municipality thus being project’s closing activity.
An oldest historical park in Panevezys – Skaistakalnis Park- over different historical periods used to be adopted to aviation base for military needs, but in last decades area became overgrown, polluted and unattractive to its visitors despite its great potential and unfavorable to the local inhabitants.
During the project, a territory in Skaistakalnis Park belonged to aviation base (2,03 ha) has been transformed into an art and green area for artists and inhabitants of local community. The land plot has been transformed to the main community and kitchen-garden zone, including new orangery, garden with flowers and plants, paths and benches, and open space to exhibit pieces of art. Paths have been asphalted with paving slabs, 12 lighting stands and 5 benches besides walking paths have been installed.
Now the area is free of waste, weakened bushes, foliage. Flower gardens and small-scale elements have been established in the area, as well as renovated green areas. The revitalized territory has become a safe, well-maintained and attractive place for inhabitants and visitors.
