22 May 2017
The Programme is honored today, 22 May, to be presented in a conference “Closer cooperation between Lithuanian and Latvian border regions” in Žagarė Manor (Žagarė town, Joniškis district, Lithuania). This conference was organized in a framework of already traditional annual meeting of members of the Parliaments of neighboring Latvia and Lithuania.
Two representatives of Programme – Deputy Director of the Development Instruments Department Līga Lāce and Head of Latvia-Lithuania Programme Division Zanda Mangule – will present the Programme, giving examples of already approved projects, and will explain expectations of the Programme towards potential project ideas.
Meetings of the Lithuanian Seima’s Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the Republic of Latvia and the Latvian Saeima’s Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Lithuania are aimed at strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Latvia and Lithuania and promotion of mutual relationships. The meeting was initiated by the member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Mr. Vitalijus Gailius. In addition to the numerous representatives of both Parliaments the conference is attended by heads and staff of municipalities of cross-border region and representatives of protected areas from both countries.
