In the frame of the Project “Joint and interdisciplinary long life learning training for professionals working with neurosensorimotor disorders (Interprof)” were organized canis therapy training sessions for professionals working with neurosensorimotor disorders from Latvia (9th and 16th March) and Lithuania (11-12th July). The training program aim was to expand knowledge and acquire skills about canis therapy for specialists working with patients with neurosensorimotor disorders. The training program focus was on introduction about alternative rehabilitation methods, public awareness of the wide range of animal therapy options, canis therapy and its impact on society, promotion of canis therapy. Moreover, during the practical classes professionals were introduced with dog as tool for canis therapy and application possibilities in order to know how to apply canis therapy for pateints with neurosensrorimotor disoreders depending on the person’s needs.
