While implementing project of Interreg V-A Latvia–Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014–2020 „Sports for Social Inclusion of At-risk Teenagers” (acronym „risk-free“), new sports equipment was purchased for Visaginas municipality ensuring accessibility of it for children and youth, especially for vulnerable and at-risk groups, promoting sports activities and sports culture and contributing and promoting social integration using purchased equipment and organized activities.

Visaginas municipality purchased outdoor fitness equipment – a set of 10 elements – which is located nearby Visagino Atgimimo gymnasium – so pupils will have variety of sport activities during the lessons or after school. With additional financial support of municipality, basketball area nearby is the gymnasium is renovated and mobile basketball baskets with stands will be placed there (purchased in the framework of the project). Thanks to the project, municipality obtained new equipment for football and volleyball (gates, balls, racks, referee stands, nets), equipment for skiing (8 units of ski boots, ski bindings and rollers) and universal simulator – exercise machine providing a possibility to organize trainings in all seasons which is crucial for sportsmen.
