Description: In December 2001, the local authorities of Aizkraukle City and Rural District decided to amalgamate as a result of the territorial reform, establishing the present Aizkraukle County. In 2004 Aizkraukle was stated to be the most orderly city of Latvia, which is a proof of its development and facilitation on Latvian scale. Today this is an area of most rapid economic development in Latvia.
