17 April 2020
On 17 April the first contract on implementation of the 3rd call project “SEE ME” has been signed with the project’s lead partner Visaginas gymnasium “Verdene”. 42 projects of 3rd call were approved by the Monitoring Committee of the Programme at the end of February. Since then projects’ partners with the support of the Joint Secretariat have been implementing conditions of the projects’ approval. It is planned, that the most of the contracts will be signed and the projects will start their activities in the upcoming months.
The objective of the project “SEE ME” is to improve accessibility and efficiency of educational environment for disabled children by setting up outdoor classes for effective implementation of new and improved social inclusion measures in border areas of Latgale and Utena regions.
Partnership between project partners is well established as this is a continuation of project “ADD ME” that was successfully implemented during the 1st call of the Programme.
Partners will jointly create and implement 6 educational training programs such as “Dealing with wool”, “Ceramics and Clay Therapy”, “Cinema/animation studio”, “Orchestra”, “Young researchers of nature” and “Fitness and mind therapy”. Also three professional orientation programs for children with special needs will be adopted and implemented. Children will present new skills in Visaginas, Dagda and Molėtai town festivals. Four summer camps in Latvia and Lithuania and 6 educational field trips will be organized. New social measure – Family clubs will bring region’s families with disabled children together, will help parents feel more involved in life of children, solve personal problems and find common ground with other families. Latvian and Lithuanian teachers will improve knowledge and gain new valuable experience that will be used while organizing educational activities in new social infrastructure – outdoor classes.
Successful implementation of the project will substantially improve social infrastructure in Dagda, Molėtai and Visaginas and will create favourable conditions for disabled children to learn, to be active, to be included, to live fulfilled and visible life.
