LLI-524 Booster for ReStart in Pakruojis and Iecava municipalities (Booster for ReStart)

The objective of the project was to activate young people in Pakruojis and Iecava municipalities. In order to do this, 2 skate/roller/BMX parks were established in Pakruojis and Iecava, Pakruojis stadium were equipped with two outdoor tennis tables and street workout equipment. Also two sport summer camps and 5 different sport competitions (night basketball tournament, night extreme sport match and international competition of extreme sports for skaters, rollers, BMX drivers) were organized in Pakruojis and Iecava. During the competitions young people created new sport cooperation networks and had trainings about healthy lifestyle. It was expected that 280 young people will participate in sport summer camps and competitions. New sport infrastructure was necessary for reaching project results and guaranteeing their durability. It was also planned to share cross-border experience in activating young people through active leisure, physical and sport activities. Four experience exchange visits in Latvia and Lithuania were organized for members of NGO, educational institutions and Pakruojis and Iecava municipalities. Visualizations “ReStart2027” for Pakruojis and Iecava municipalities for developing deprived territories were prepared. The goal of visions is to encourage the use of newly built skate/roller/BMX parks and other selected public spaces, buildings to promote leisure, culture, physical and sport activities and small business.

The project fostered healthy lifestyle for young people in deprived communities, established new infrastructure for physical and sport activities and created new cooperation networks across the border.

Successfully implemented project “Booster for ReStart”

On June 30, 2023, Pakruojis District Municipality Administration, together with its partner, Bauska Municipality, “closed” the final page of project No. LLI-524 “Booster for ReStart in Pakruojis and Iecava municipalities” (Booster for ReStart) – on that day the project activities were officially completed.

During the project implementation, 2 skateboard/roller/BMX parks were installed in Pakruojis and Iecava, Pakruojis stadium was equipped with outdoor tennis, football tables and street workout equipment.

Sports infrastructure is being expanded in Pakruojis city stadium

In mid-June work began in Pakruojis city stadium. Therefore, no one should be surprised to see heavy equipment in the stadium, not just athletes. The contractors started the repair works of a skate/roller/BMX park site where a new base and new asphalt cover will be installed.

The total planned area of ​​the site is 950 sq. m. Repair works of the site are performed by Joint stock company “Kelių priežiūra”, which won the public procurement. The value of the repair works is 28,8 thousand of Euros. Repair works of the site will be finished by the end of July 2021. Pakruojis District Municipality Administration plans to purchase the necessary site equipment (ramps, skating tubes, benches) until the end of September 2021.

New sport infrastructure was necessary for reaching project results and guaranteeing their durability. Through active leisure, physical and sport activities partners shared cross-border experience in activating young people.

Four experience exchange visits in Latvia and Lithuania were organized for members of NGO, educational institutions and Pakruojis and Iecava municipalities. In total participated 36 persons.

The goal of visions is to encourage the use of newly built skate/roller/BMX parks and other selected public spaces, buildings to promote leisure, culture, physical and sport activities and small business.

The project fostered healthy lifestyle for young people in deprived communities, established new infrastructure for physical and sport activities and created new cooperation networks across the border.
