The Managing Authority has taken a decision not to perform Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment of Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Programme 2021–2027 area in Lithuania

Programme title:  Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Programme 2021-2027

Programme specific objectives:

  1. Other actions to support better cooperation governance;
  2. Promoting climate change adaption and risk prevention and resilience taking into account eco-system based approaches;
  3. Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution;
  4. Promoting the socioeconomic inclusion of marginalized communities, low income households and disadvantaged groups including people with special needs, through integrated actions including housing and social services;
  5. Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.

Conclusion of the Managing Authority: Taking into account the prepared Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment screening document of the Programme area in Lithuania and conclusions submitted by the institutions during the consultation process, the Managing Authority concluded that significant negative impact on environment and on protected species and habitats in Natura 2000 territories, national protected areas or natural values is not foreseen and Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment of the Programme is not required.
