All goals and results of the project “ACCESSlife” have been achieved
On February 26, the implementation of the activities “ACCESSlife” LLI-365 for the Lead Partner of the project “Development of Social Services and Social Inclusion Measures for Vulnerable Groups” has been completed. In order to get acquainted with the result of the project, the new service location was visited by the representatives of Dobele County municipality.
Dobele municipality created a suitable infrastructure for the provision of the social service “Moment of Respite”, purchased equipment and furniture, trained social workers who will develop this service. The service is intended for the families of the region where children with functional disorders grow up and will significantly facilitate the daily life of their legal representatives. Within the framework of the project, five bedrooms have been rebuilt, improved and furnished, a large classroom has been created, a sanitary unit for employees and customers, as well as a physiotherapy room has been created and equipped with modern equipment. All rooms have access to the environment, there are two lift systems. The place of service has a separate entrance with a ramp.
The performance of the project partners in the creation or improvement of the social services infrastructure is following: a Japanese garden with a terrace for outdoor activities has been established in the territory of the Klaipeda Pedagogical Psychology Service; The Kedainiai Social Care House and VSIA Hospital “Gintermuiža” created sensory rooms. Jelgava’s partners also created a Garden of Sensation on the territory of the hospital, which will therapeutically promote the rehabilitation of patients and their relatives.
Within the framework of the project, four face-to-face and online experience exchange and training events have taken place, which promoted the professional development of the partners’ social workers and teachers.
In order to promote the social inclusion of the target audience, Akmene District Municipality in cooperation with Jaunakmene Music School in August 2020 organized a five-day camp “Growing with a Heart” for children and youth with special needs and their companions. At the end of the camp, a concert and exhibition was organized for the local community at the Akmene Culture House. A film about the camp has been made, it is planned to be shown in partner institutions and public places to inform the public about social inclusion activities.
